Immortal Song 2 miraculous update

Miraculous because one little gem reappeared. On October 20th, Immortal Song 2 featured Ryeowook's appearance, and if you are still unfamiliar with my close-to-obssession state over this crystal ball of talent, well, you haven't been reading my spazz for long, that's for sure.

Music for a new week

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire

Some songs are known but in new versions (Immortal Song 2 strikes back!), some are purely insane.
Did I or did I not make a review on Ulala Session's album? Cause they're bunch of insanely talented freaks (and they are also on IS 2, muwahaha!). The song here starts (the song, not the MV which is a product of a wicked genius) with the piano as if taken directly from Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive, then we have a painful swing - and then the chaos starts. Yes, the music line may remind you all to Kenny Loggins' Footlose, but finding classical tropes in music is so much fun.

Kim Seonggyu on IS 2

Well, the song didn't allow him to fully show the voice, but damn... damn, boy.
Korea is abundant with talents, and not only "good ol' ones" but they pop up every few years. No, not every year.
I'm happy Immortal Song 2 got relevant for me again - Seonggyu and Ryeowook^^

Oh music music

My weekly ritual - Melon and Bugs charts. Usually it ends up with puking and cringing, but sometimes I have fun with the lists. Sometimes I find nice songs (Epitone Project!!). Sometimes sad, painful songs catch my attention, yet sometimes upbeat ones especially made for shaking-that-thing. And I like it (wow, fantastic baby^^).
Lately both lists been infected with indie, namely Busker Busker, but there was one song by Gukkasten and Buhwal as well. I appreciate Buhwal, but I don't love the current vocalist. He sings with this annoying japanese rockers' mannerism. And I'm not going to say sorry.

2011 in Kpop^^

Picture from here.
“It's best to be ruthless with the past.”
(Stephen King, Rose Madder)

I wanted to write this much earlier, but somehow other things came in a way and I postponed this until now. This is a very biased, very personal take on 2011 in Kpop, so don't throw any stones for missing this-or-this group out of those 2526545 that debuted last year. Except for 2NE1 I don't listen to girls' groups (and even 2NE1 I listen when I want to 'shake that thing' only), so lack of them here is justified, right?
Oh yes, your all-time favorite category "Oppa Didn't Mean It" is also here.
Especially for one special friend out there^^

Immortal Song 2 special

For a moment show got relevant again. And next week - Jay Park, so I'll skip this one.
I have to say one thing - IS 2 did great to Wuhyeon (not his health, I bet), he is more confident on stage, and sings with broader range now. Comparing to his first performance when his mic was shaking, damn, that's a huge improvement.
I can sleep safe about his musical.

Immortal Song 2 - report

I'm not in the shape to write, so let's keep it short. Wuhyeon thanked everyone for those 7 weeks and he expressed grattitude to seonbaes for the opportunity to learn. The show gets irrelevant again for me.
Performances below.
I will not write much this week.

Namstar Interview

Oh well, because it's been a long time three days without any news related to the specific 7.
It's really worth it, dear readers, to sacrifice those 10 minutes and watch/read it.

Immortal Song 2 - weekly report

Oh, OK, can't make sense because of Namstar's first win. He lost in the next round, but judges were also favorable on his performance so I can go eat my dinner as a happy woman.
Too much of Infinite lately? So?
Update: Inspirits are tireless, so all Namstar's cuts with eng subs are already out, so I'm adding. The cute reaction to winning gratis^^

Immortal Song 2 - report

And so I was yesterday, watching IS 2 as usual, getting all giggly for Wuhyeon's appearance and the song put me in a swingy good mood when... damn me, a wild Dongwu appeared and ruined the mood. I mean ruined in a good way, in a great way. Those who follow DA's thread know I have special feelings for this crazy boy, so seeing him there just made me all fluffy and happy.
The winner was Hong Kyeongmin, who did a rather interesting yet risky version of the song. And don't get me wrong, I really do think he or Ali should take the crown, but I think he should just stop with multi-intrumentalism. We all know he can play. But he ain't no Mike Oldfield, his main weapon is his voice and many, many years in the business.
Heo Gak was also good, but this time the victory was snatched from him, yet he finished second.

Immortal Song 2 weekly report

I may make this my weekly routine, because this episode was just so damn good. Ali made audience cry (seriously, there was a lady who cried, maybe some memories with the song?), Hong Kyeongmin put everyone in awe, and Wuhyeon did his best. Unfortunately, the line-up is really, really hard.

Immortal Song 2

Funny enough, I like the show. Probably against my own wish. OK, I liked the show, mah baby left, and truthfully, I have no reason to watch. Still, a music show other than The Great Three on the weekends (Music Core, Music Bank and Inkigayo). I could never warm up to I'm a Singer, even though it features Yun Dohyeon and BMK. I loved Opera Star though.
Anyway, back to the topic - one song haunts me. Million White Roses. For me, an European girl, this song is more than known. One of the saddest songs ever. Unfortunately - it was written and performed in the language I hate - Russian. And no, don't try to force anything - I do hate the language. I don't find it beautiful, romantic, melodic or anything. I had to learn it for 6 years during my school days, and the happiest moment was the final classes. Since two forces were combined - Korean language and Jonghyeon talent - I simply couldn't resist. I re-discovered how great this song is.
And yes, I have no knowledge about technical things in singing, I just judge song by one thing - goosebumps. If I have them, that means a song has its effect.
