Kdrama in 2012

It’s time to summarize the year that already drowned under the waves of dark waters of the past. Year 2012 in dramaland. I will focus only on those that I finished, but I will mention those I watched few episodes and dropped because of this-or-that reason.

One more thing, dramas are listed chronologically, more or less, so just to avoid (see how clever I can be?) being biased and putting some drama as the first one.

First, I also include those who started airing in 2011 yet continued to 2012. I always have the same problem with late year series. I also watched few raw dramas that no one picked up to be subbed, yet I don't write them here, except for one.

New Music

   LedApple released their mini album, I Do I Do released OST and... and Deli Spice came back with a song for the drama. First thing first - I Do I Do OST is great. For some time no one cared to include instrumentals in OSTs, so we got only main songs and sometimes one instrumental version of one of those songs. The most recent would be History of the Salaryman that had nice music but not included in the official soundtrack. 

Enjoying the week

   Of course I Do! There are some concurrent motifs in Kdrama nowadays, but I, for once, don't care. There can be 5 dramas airing that have the same motif, and I'd still watch those that catch my interest. After all, our civilizations and lives are just archetypes. If only I had the certainty that Park Giwung would die in Gaksital, I'd watch this. I had my share of his terror in Arrow and The Musical, no thank you, no matter how good... oh, Shin Hyeonjun... damn. That might be the reason I will swallow some pills and watch that too. So far, I'm not starting any more dramas as my week is already dark and full of terrors... no, wait, wrong series.

Drama musings

   With all that Queen Inhyeon's Man havoc and I Need Romance 2 in upcoming section, and with all comments and tumblr wars, I started to think if there is maybe something wrong with me? 

Yoshimoto Banana, well-known modern novelist, said once and I always repeat her words during classes, that when her new book is out, bookstores have to get rid of all her previous novels. On shelves there should be only the current one during promotions. This shows how clever she is and how great sense of literature she got. This can be applied to many situations as well. I bought a pair of shoes yesterday (finally!!), but it took me few weeks, because I so liked my old ones, I wanted to find a pair exactly like them. Even though a guy in some store said that they're an old model and I won't find any. My stubborn human nature of loving what's familiar prevailed and I wandered around the city to find exactly the same. Yesterday I decided to let go.

The same is with dramas and music too.

June started, dramas started

   I know I'm not as active as before, and I promise I will troll (or irritate other people) more in the second half of June and in July, but now - I don't even have time to spazz properly.

Regardless, new dramas started and after first week I decided to continue with 3 of new ones. They are: I Do I Do, The Chaser and Gentleman's Dignity.

Three of them offer something different from each other and all entertain me in their own rights.

Spring with dramas

   It's hard to follow certain tumblrs and not to get exposed to spoilers. Fans who have lots of time and software in their hands mercilessly spam the dash with gifs. I don't complain, since I'm pretty much indifferent to spoilers. Knowing the ending doesn't ruin the watching for me. Au contraire! It sometimes puts my heart at ease. It's not the case with currently airing dramas, though. We just have to bear with Devil-spawn that is Sena and wait until Lee Gak will finally stop being such a blockhead.

But this post is not about Rooftop Prince that is proudly reigning (sic!) on my watchlist, it's brilliant in many aspects. And since many of my friends say otherwise, it's more than predictable I'd say that.

Also, I never run out of ideas what to watch, I don't squeal for recommendations as many morons on D-A, I don't have draught seasons too. Dramawiki is mah friend and synopsis is more than enough to... make me curious, yeah (sung along SHINee's Sherlock, dammit...)
