22nd Seoul Music Awards

You're really sick when you see one thing...
Seoul Music Awards. Self-explanatory. Although I'm not happy with all the choices, but it's a given I just HAVE to rant and miaoul and maul other artists in favor of my own.
Oh yes, I'm high on sugar so I may not make sense.

2012 in Music

Some people say 2012 was a bad year in Kpop, others say it was better than 2011. I've seen better than both, but the problem doesn't lie in Kpop as the bubble, but in those who blow it. If big agencies don't change, Kpop as a total mayhem phenomenon won't change as well.
There were some good things in 2012 music and some bad things. Anything fresh and outstanding?

2012 in Kpop

From here

Last year I prepared my first post summing up the whole 2011 in broadly perceived Kpop funky land. This time - 2012 in a perspective of one rarely serious idiot fangirl, that is me. Like it's any different from any other post >.>
What happened to Kpop Imaginarium this past year? Quite a lot, yet not everything on huge scale. And to calm down all shivering with antici...pation - "Oppa didn't mean it" is also here.
I didn't include all 6589 debuts of nugu groups and all comebacks because that would use up all my bandwidth (and next week).

"Double, double toil and trouble;

Manekineko wishes you all good year and invites you to cray cray world^^
... Fire burn and cauldron bubble."

A post totally made for fun and with fun (or frustrations, whatever). While I'm slowly trudging through award shows (12 parts to dl and watch), I prepared this for all of you to have fun.
There are "prediction posts" everywhere, in K-entertainment too, so to entertain ourselves, let's make predictions for year 2013.
What are your predictions? Free your mind, and the rest will follow^^

MAMA's good to you!

On Friday, in-between classes, I managed to watch MAMA show, and fortunately for me, I caught some nice ones.

K-entertainment part 3

Three days' absence from Kpop crazy world equals to a month in a normal world. A lot happened, to be honest, and the funniest thing happened around my writing the previous round-up.
So here we go.

K-entertainment Part 1

This is something I have been planning to do for some time. A weekend round-up of whatever weird, shocking or funny happened in K-industry. I don't plan to write it with something up my nice we-know-what, but in a fluffy way. I'm not a Debbie Downer, I'm not going to dissect everything with pessimistic suction.
Anyway, first post is having Heechul as the anchor pic because he's not here *a moment of silence to commemorate million ELFs hearts that just crumbled* and because he's Heechul, love him or hate him, but he's "unique".

Weapon of mass destruction

In the previous post I gave links to 3 funny fancams. Two are of SuJu's and one BB's. And one doesn't have to be a sociologist to predict a shitstorm that followed the last one, mostly so-called "clash of cultures". Let me just explain myself. I do believe in this clash of cultures, it happened in 19th century when white man came to Pacific islanders who never saw any other people than themselves. I believe in clash of cultures in the middle of 20th century, when the whole world was recovering from WWII and Cold War started shattering old alliances and forming new ones. But I hardly believe in clash of cultures in 2012.

MBC Korean Music Wave in Google

Anyone in California?
This will be live streaming on google and *here* as well. Or maybe even here. I would stalk this event (or maybe even will), if some other bands were included. But SuJu fans will, I bet^^
More news under this long link.

Dear K-Entertainment and fangirls!

Dear K-Entertainment and fangirls!

Not so long ago, although last year may seems to be like eons ago, one individual, surnamed Park, was classified as unable to actively serve for 2 damn years in the military. Few days ago, during a slow news week, this resurfaced. And, of course, it prompted many self-proclaimed till-death-do-us-part entertainment fangirls to buy rope to hang themselves, because all they read was “military service”. That reaction was fun though to read. But there is another group of fans that complain that every celebrity that is disappearing in the boots, serves not in the active camp (they clearly forgot about their precious will-remember-foreva!!1 oppa Hyeon Bin) but in the office.

K-OSTs taxes

The taxes period is ending here. This is why I thought about writing a post highlighting some of the OSTs of the past 4 months. And again - it's personal, subjective and biased.
Music is a strange thing, even stranger than a picture. It may move us one second and leave cold at the different moment in our life. The same piece may bring memories to one person, and do nothing to another.
This is why I like some of the crappiest songs ever, and higly-esteemed blues singers leave me cold.

Oppa didn't... ooh, it's eonni!

New semester started and I had no time to make a proper post, but I just got back from work (yes, this semester also on Saturdays), filled meself with tortilla (I'll starve until Monday after that, I bet), ready to roll in the deep. With Kpop.
My oh my, so much happened! I don't remember now, but I don't think I was THIS busy updating myself with western entertainment world when I was misguided then and it was before I discovered one true path leading to enlighte... to rofl, OK.

Ranking singing abilities

Are your favorites here? Mine are, except for few, but I can forgive, they debuted last year. And cat is out of the bag. But Taemin being on that list and WuGyu duo not? That just makes me chuckle.
I agree on Junsu, he wins in every ranking and he wins because he earns it. No problem. But Taeyang? Pleeze, don't let me start (TOP should be here too).
I might be deaf, but Niel being higher than Key makes me uneasy. The same goes for Yoseob, just don't see what others see. And Yonghwa. That's all. And since when Kyuhyun is better than Wookie? (eh, Ryewook, forever ignored).
Plus, you know, I love Yucheon, but really?
Plus, as I read on boards, list may be fake, so I just disregard it.

Evil, evil everywhere!

Here, the ghost possession was captured on film. I wouldn't mind if he possessed me.
It's too late to pack your bags and run. Chances are you are already under menacing influence of whatever group of "highly secretive society" that wants to take over the world. And yer souls too. And color pencils too! No, it's not a plot for another James Bond movie. It's the truest true, internetz says it. And internetz is all true.
To tell the truth, I had no will or time to go through those hundreds of MVs I watched up to this point, be it Kpop, Krock, indie or OSTs. I just took few the most known ones.
And yes, THEY are everywhere. Our fate is sealed, there is no escape from evil elements in MVs.
Especially SMEnt.
And to those that don't visit this blog often - I mock a lot. I mop the floor with idiocy sometimes. So no, don't take this post seriously. This is my own Vigilant Ethlenn take on Kpop^^.

MV parodies

Anytime, baby^^

This is not a good day, but have something to keep me distracted. Parodies. My lovely companion in spazzing over Kpop on D-A, that is Viande, posted links to some MV parodies. And I must admit, I laughed my lungs out. Fact, the person who made those uses highly specific meta-language, so for those who are not into Kpop this may be not funny at all.
