K-entertainment part 3

Three days' absence from Kpop crazy world equals to a month in a normal world. A lot happened, to be honest, and the funniest thing happened around my writing the previous round-up.
So here we go.

K-entertainment Part 1

This is something I have been planning to do for some time. A weekend round-up of whatever weird, shocking or funny happened in K-industry. I don't plan to write it with something up my nice we-know-what, but in a fluffy way. I'm not a Debbie Downer, I'm not going to dissect everything with pessimistic suction.
Anyway, first post is having Heechul as the anchor pic because he's not here *a moment of silence to commemorate million ELFs hearts that just crumbled* and because he's Heechul, love him or hate him, but he's "unique".

Ajusshi - Man From Nowhere

Well, if Hell has an alternative name as Nowhere, in that case, everything is in place.
During last Christmas I’ve seen this movie five times. To be honest – because I’m stupid and I can’t count. I thought I would be back sooner to my normal everyday schedule (yes, hours on msn, D-A, Nate, Asiae, why you ask?), but somehow 10 days shrank miraculously in my stupid head to a week. Fine. So I was left only with this one movie, ekhem…
Back to the topic. It’s a good movie. Don’t stone me but I will not use the adjective “great” when talking about it in general. It had great parts, like filming, but somehow, well, I don’t know. I remembered two things while watching this: Kim Namgil-nim’s saying his family was watching Baker King Kim Takgu and loving it, and second – the scene from the movie The Classic – when the young man said that Koreans love sad stories. Ajusshi (I prefer original title than the English version) is a sad movie. It’s a sad action movie to be exact.
Why sad? The protagonist's fate is unclear - ha may be transferred to prison, his military unit may claim him, and some rogue assassin may shoot him.

8th Korea Film Awards

And... yeah, Won Bin. Soon he will be charged I guess. Because he's taking "too much care" of little Kim Saeron. Geez, people are so dumb. She starred along him in Ahjusshi, but if it were her parents always with her on every gala, people would say they want to use their daughter's moment of fame. If it's Won Bin taking the responsibility for her, he's close to being called a paedophile. Note to self: never, ever, sit 2 meters to any kid, I may be seen as a pervert too.

47th Daejong Awards

As we all know a month ago So Jisub got the special one. On Friday, yesterday, the awards were handed. And as everyone predicted, Won Bin (yes, Aili!) got the award for the Most Popular Actor as well as for the Best Actor. Which is debatable considering Jeong Jaeyoung had also a nice movie this year... Let's fight!

Pusan International Film Festival

Asia's most prestigious film event, the Pusan International Film Festival, opened Thursday night at the Suyoungman Yacht Marina in Korea's city of Busan.
This year international VIP guests include American filmmaker Oliver Stone who's here to promote his new release "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" and French actress Juliette Binoche, who was personally invited by the event's executive chairman Kim Dong-ho, as well as American actor Willem Dafoe, who is here to promote his latest project "A Woman."
On the domestic front "Queen of Cannes" Jeon Do-yeon has been invited as a guest at the festival's special section, Cinema Today Panorama, where her recent film "The Housemaid" will be screened.
And other celebs here to light up the event included Won-bin, Jung Woo-sung, Hyun-bin and Son Yeh-jin. (Arirang)
They forgot about Jeong Jaeyoung, bastards!! But I spotted him!
And I thought I went crazy and started to see things when I thought I saw KNG. I checked. Nope, I'm sane. KNG was in the broadcast^^
More info: PIFF on Arirang
You can always see a short report on it.

I Love Movies, Movie World cuts

Cuts from new episodes aired this weekend. On I Love Movies there was a quite long interview with Won Bin about his upcoming movie Ajusshi, also he was asked about the movie Mother. He's nice, but what was that called, I think, jacket on him?? And yes, a video made for KNG as well. Because it's my whim today. Finally after 6 months of waiting, someone felt probably pity over my IP and decided to seed World And I from Jan. 29, so I will make a special post for it. To be honest, I really want to see Ajusshi, not because of Won Bin's good acting in Mother, but also about the story. I don't like kids, but the girl seems to be pretty good as for such small actress. Plus, a gun, a nice, half-naked guy, a chasing scene... damn, a perfect movie for me.

New Korean Movies 2010 - second half

Ahahahaa!!! Who would have guessed I will begin with this movie, hm?
Movie: Moss
Revised romanization: Iggi
Hangul: 이끼
Plot: A man (Park Hae-Il) enters a reclusive country village to attend his father's funeral. During his stay he investigates the death of his father and uncovers what appears to be a conspiracy. The man then confronts the village leader (Jeong Jae-Yeong). The secrets of the village then start to unravel ...(asianmediawiki)
I really do hope I will be able to watch it as soon as possible, otherwise I will wither.
On the other note, I can't find the information about the "secret project" of Kim Nam Gil before he goes to the military this fall. But please, eat properly, don't let the same things happen again as in the last year, OK?

4th Asian Film Awards

March 22nd, 2010
Mother took the Award for the Fest Film. It really is. I was shocked after seeing it, and the movie left me speechless. Firs I wanted to see this for Won Bin (who turn out to be great in it, I just remembered him as a sweet aspiring assassin^^), and Kim Hye Ja (whom I admired in drama Goong).
Movie is gritty, depressing at some point and moving. Great acting, marvellous editing and script.

Guns and Talks

Although Divine Weapon was the first movie I watched with Jeong Jae Young after a break, this one is my favorite. I have seen it I have no idea how many times. I just love everything about this movie: the characters, the plot, the filming technique, the lines, the music. I read many bad reviews on this movie, many complaining this is not a realistic action movie, the main line is vague. So? This is a comedy, and in fact one of the best I've seen.
