[First Impression] On The Verge of Insanity

I understand this might not be everyone's cup of tea, because it tells the story of workers trying to survive during mass layoffs and uncertainty because of their job. As side stories, this drama adds other social issues that we usually don't like to think about.

[Rearview Mirror 2020] Korean Movies

In 2020 I watched 54 Korean films. Majority of them (48) was experienced in the lovely company of my twitter friend: Mexochi. Below you can find the list of them, some with short info whether it's worth seeing or not. Also, I don't care about spoiler-phobic feelings, so yes, there are spoilers.

11 AM teaser

Should I say - FINALLY! It's been over a year and a half of waiting. And full teaser is now out (the previous one, shorter, was released some days ago).
Sci-fi about time travel. I'm always iffy about such things, since time travel motif is full of loopholes (nomen omen) and it's hard to avoid mistakes and paradoxes, but... WHO CARES??

Jeong Jaeyoung's Day

There is a reason for everything. For me staying weirdly up until 1.30 am too. So that I could read 2 tweets regarding my men, kkk^^
Chosun Ilbo:
A day of cinema dedicated to actor Jung Jae-young will take place at the CGV Apgujeong multiplex in Seoul on Monday.
Movie Collage, an indie movie brand operated by CJ CGV, will screen Jung's top films including his latest movie "Confession of Murder," and hold a Q&A session with the star.
Other films to be featured on the day are "Someone Special" (2004), "Welcome to Dongmakgol" (2005), "Going by the Book" (2007), and "Moss" (2010).

Confession of Murder

One of them is creepy here. And it's not my JJY this time...
Well, that would be mine, if this movie doesn't come my way any time soon. I realized that it takes a lot of patience to be me, waiting and waiting. And waiting some more. For movies, series, albums... Or maybe it's just that I really have no luck with men whatsoever. However, I prefer them doing one drama/movie per year (or one album every 4 years!!) than releasing anything/touring which just keunsucks. Whatever.

I Am Murderer

free image hosting

Good to know.
So, the movie has finished filming and according to this article it will be released in the secong half of this year.
More about this movie can be found here, if you want. As for me, I don't really care about the plot, about second lead, about anything. It's another movie of Mr. Jeong, and that's all that is relevant in this little world of mine.

I'm dead. Call others.

I read the rumors about that, not believing a word, but since it's been... (*collecting words*) since it's... uhmm.. Nevermind, I forgot what I wanted to write.
Jeong Jaeyoung was in a movie with Kim Namgil, and now with Park Shihu. I call it quits, K-entertainment is seriously bound to destroy me.

Cuts

Yes, I will write that publicly - FileFactory is a bunch of non-professionals. I stored there my files, because they promised to "keep your files for-eva" (say that with Latrine's accent and you'll get my point). Well, apparently "forever" means to them - until we make a change and won't inform you about that. All my files are lost now, and some of them were for my students. And some of them were Namgil-nim. So yes, I'm so pissed off nothing actually can pacify me right now. Very professional. Now their policy is - 90 days. So no, thank you, I think I'll switch to megaupload for saving me files. So if you find any link on this blog that is broken - don't blame me.
Anyway, two cuts today from weekend shows.

Countdown!

*disconnected*

A ruthless debt collector TAE Geon-ho (JUNG Jae-young)  chases after a mysterious woman CHA Ha-yeon (JEON Do-youn), to do his job as usual. Ha-yeon is a financial fraud who is just released from prison. Betrayed by a friend before, she lures Geon-ho into her plan for revenge, promising him big money immediately. In urgent need of big money, Geonho accepts Ha-yeon’s offer and Ha-yeon is excited about the thought of getting her money back.
Claiming to be humane action film, Countdown has chosen financial fraud as its subject, an unusual choice for a Korean film. Albeit a dark crime movie, its humane side is hidden in the ending. The movie talks of coexistence and betrayal of a couple, using each other for the sole target ‘money’. The twist where the two go on the verge of their lives that comes in the end will surely be an impressive point of the film.
The new side of JEON Do-youn, winner of the Best Actress Awards at 2007 Cannes Film Festival for her performance in Secret Sunshine , stands out. She tries to move away from her image as an art film actress that became concrete since Secret Sunshine . While acting as a beautiful fraud who’s full of lies, she also shows off her femme fatale features. JUNG Jae-young who was awarded Best Actor from Blue Dragon Awards last year for Moss reveals a cold yet kind side of him. The two actors had collaborated in RYOO Seung-wan’s 2002 action film No Blood, No tears , getting back together on screen after 9 years. No Blood, No tears and Countdown share the similarities of being a crime film. Meanwhile Countdown is a film company Bom’s comeback piece in genre film after its heydays of the early millennium.
Much is expected of Countdown , as a work of producer OH Jeongwan, returning to a popular genre film once again unveiling her senses and perseverance. With investment and distribution by Sidus FNH, the shooting will finish up in early May and be premiered in the Fall.

Countdown^^

See, they make it extremely hard for me to concentrate on my work...
The moment I got home... uhmm, actually no, exaggeration alert. The moment I came home I went to sleep a bit. Yes. Woke up with all strength mustered up and was really trying to do something, but Junsu's song, and now this. Now THIS!
Eh.
Movie is on the roll of filming^^
I guess no payback for Jeon Doyeon for screwing his character royally in No Blood No Tears, keke...
It's... fangirl tiiiiiiime!!

Again music and videos

In Movie World, at the beginning, there was a comparison of few similar scenes in movie pairs. First pair was Glove and Silmido. And the second - Take Off and The Chaser. Don't have to explain who linked those movie pairs respectively.
So yes, a proper fan like myself made a cut.
