Hong Kwangho - Update

I bet this gentleman wrote my name in his notebook, cause with each performance I die a little bit. I've wanted to post a video or two for months, but had no time or just other stuff accumulated and I couldn't manage to write one, short post. I'm a disgrace of a fan, I know. But... it's so great to see new channels popping up on YT rotating solely around this wonderful man (like recent star star). The hunt for his performances has become a lot easier than before. Also, Korean musicals are being released as albums with songs and that is also a thing to rejoice upon. He also released a live album with his songs from a concert. However the possibility to actually buy them is another story...

Music Once Again

Goddamit, the OST for Thor 2 is so so booooring! But Brian Tyler was never my favorite score composer anyway, so it's not like I'm disappointed or anything.
And you know, when even Ryan Gosling scolds you for not writing more often, it means something's not right. Ekhem, back to music and NO Jjong today. Let's commemorate this with one minute of silence.

7th ‘Musical Awards’ Korea

Looks like Rebecca won all major awards. Oh well, apart from Les Miserables, it had no real competition. I'm happy to see La Cage Aux Folles won Choreography Award though.

Talent and wit of Korean Air Force wow global audiences

Some weeks ago I was tipped by a lovely friend of mine regarding military parody of "Les Miserables" and of course I loved that from the first sound. I love musicals, I love parodies, so I had my day. I meant to write about this for some time but somehow something else was on my mind all the time.
Turns out - this is slowly becoming new viral sensation. This time with full sense, talent and coherence. They sing so damn well (no wonder Dino was pissed once).
Oh and English subs too.

Hong Kwangho in July

It's already 30+ degrees here, yet it's steaming in my room already...
I know I make no sense.

Musical La Cage

Korea is a strange country. The gay population is (est.) 0%, foreigners are the source of abysmal depravation, yet the best musicals are precisely about those issues that can't be expressed  directly. It may be there are few reasons - because it's "just a play", contestation of the official trend, curiosity and maybe even a rebellion.
Whatever the reason, let's just say that in this little world of our musicals, nothing's impossible. The most famous Rent is about homosexuality, performed tremendously well in Korea, with fearless actors and directors. Now La Cage aux Folles. Here is the official website of the musical.
Mentioning this because Lee Minho (younger) tweeted this. And this musical has fabulous list of actors! Cheon Hojin is a busy one, playing that mofo bastard from hell that needs to be killed in Gaksital, and now musical^^

Mr. Hong Kwangho

Bow down peasants before the walking glory of musical world. I'm already down there on the floor.
Sorry to all Park Euntae fangirls :P

Some musicals

Musicals' cuts, to be precise. Don't like musicals, don't look under the tag.
But first... damn you, Shakespeare!!
I gave myself a few minutes' break from creating an ultimately difficult exam and I visited tumblr (why oh why!), as usual, lots of mah baby pics to reblog, as always. While browsing the dash, I decided to trust Shakespeare on "how I feel now" oracle just for fun.
I'll never do it again.
This is what I got:

128: How oft when thou my musike musike playst
How oft when thou my musike musike playst,
Vpon that blessed wood whose motion sounds
With thy sweet fingers when thou gently swayst,
The wiry concord that mine eare confounds,
Do I enuie those Iackes that nimble leape,
To kisse the tender inward of thy hand,
Whilst my poore lips which should that haruest reape,
At the woods bouldnes by thee blushing stand.
To be so tikled they would change their state,
And situation with those dancing chips,
Ore whome their fingers walke with gentle gate,
Making dead wood more blest then liuing lips,
Since sausie Iackes so happy are in this,
Giue them their fingers, me thy lips to kisse.

(more normal version under the cut)

I think I need to raep my screen now.
(*Jjong, you bitch, you make me look like a weirdo in my friends' eyes!! Wait, they're all weirdoes too*)
