Return of the KiNG

Bow down before his glory (and derpiness) you unworthy peasants! I'm already there.

I will get high on Jonghyeon's and Mr. Hong's voices today. A good day^^

Who Likes Flowers?

I've been hovering over this topic for over a month now. We had this conversation on DA or msn not once, and after some time devoted to digesting all horrible pics and news, I decided to write what's on my mind.
Of course, some will just disagree for the sake of disagreeing, some will curse me for eternity, but I hope some just nod silently. It might not be a big deal, considering how wide K-entertainment is, but some issues keep bugging me and when I'm irritated I start to develop an anger. This is why I procrastinated. I didn't want to write in the heat of things, because it might happen I couldn't control my harshness. Now, since I'm preoccupied with usual, mundane work, I can look at the problem with a cool heart (oh, can you? Really??).
My problem? My problem is this beauty obsession in Korea. I have nothing against someone being beautiful, but we should draw a line between "famous because of the beauty" and "famous because of the talent". Talent and beauty are seldom walking together. Of course, entertainers are bound to look attractive and stand out against normal people, I understand that they are also working with their bodies. But putting the physical appearance on the worshipped altar of "popularity" is complete nonsense as for me.
I guess everyone knows the term "kkotminam" (꽃미남).

Winter Night's Dream

I know that astronomically  it's not Winter yet. But to the person who has below 20 degrees C in the room and sees tons of snow every day, December 21st is another day.
During those dark times, I made few wallies^^
And about the words above on the pic?  Well, I had to write something so it wouldn't look so boring and empty.

Exotic charm - Stars vs Soldiers

This article left me puzzled. First, I wanted to sit and translate it, but when I managed to take my eyes off of two guys featured there I sssaw... I saw... Kang The Creep Dongwon. OK, I know everyone loves him, but he seriously scares the living sh*t out of me. Even his smile is haunting as for me. Have no idea why. "He didn't kill me" (to quote a now-famous quote from DA), but I simply can't look at him without fear of nightmares again. And no, I've seen some movies with him.

Something against cold nights: Jalgeum 3 Inbang^^

How to put it... Better bluntly: a gutter time, dear readers. A gutter totally biased, personal and unfair. Oh, by the way. I'm looking for some nice place to buy an apartment there. Preferably in the neighborhood of my other Thorns. Yes, you... I decided to stay in the gutter.
Because there is so cold here, my flat is cold too, I almost don't feel my fingers. And the hot beer with spices warmed me a lot, but for a short time.

Kim Namgil-nim: a tradition

Yes, if a second time we can call a tradition, then OK. The second time I'm going off-line and the second time I bid my farewell with His pics. What can I do? I love the man? Actually "love" is not an appropriate verb here. Admire? Yes. Adore? Yes. Love? Well... I don't wake up close to this person, I don't put up with his eating habits, I don't see him after indigestion. So "love" is not suitable her. I love his work, screen presence, persona and character he displays and an enormous talent, but... I try to remain normal, you know. The price you pay for being sober too often and not indulge in fan-fantasy.
Fan-fantasy is not bad. I have it on a daily basis. But still, I know my place.

Press Conference Fashion

I'm in a bitchy mood today, so I decided to relax myself a bit by writing here. There are days like this, not particular bad as for weather, but somehow, in the course of hours my mood can plummet faster than a shooting star. It just happens, have no idea why, and nothing can cheer me. And because I have refrained from commenting on leopard print on jackets, I tried to get rid of the images that Aility gave me and they caused me nauseous ever since that day. But, I guess unless I speak about it, I will not get my peace back. And I need it to finish few articles. My personal, subjective, biased opinion, you don't need to give a damn on this one.
I can handle the weird fashion, really. I've never had any problems watching this. On the catwalk. Or in the movies. Really, after seeing Velvet Goldmine and Terry Gilliam stuff nothing can surprise me. I understand wacky outfits for some photoshoots. Why? Because they are part of the concept for it. The person who is responsible for a photoshoot talks with the stylist and they come up with the right image. A model or actor who models for it has little to say. He lends his personality, body and face to it and nothing more. So I don't care for that. I couldn't be more indifferent to it.
But when the actor is caught while attending some event, like movie premiere (not his/her, just a visitor in the theatre), dressed in some strange combinations even Stevie Wonder wouldn't choose, there is this alarm that goes off deep in my head. (btw. I love Stevie Wonder, jokes aside).

Weird, weird K-Entertainment

I thought nothing can surprise me after this time I spent immersed completely in Korean Entertainment. I've seen many things, good, bad and weird as well. But we learn till our last breath, and my Queen of Thorns posted one article that completely shattered my firm belief in the fact that I saw everything.
Allkpoop <-- read this on your own responsibility.
Indiana Jones was wrong saying: "I'm a scientist, nothing can surprise me". This would surprise even him.
So, the situation looks like this: there is a girl group, a rookie group that has yet to prove that is of some value on the music scene in Korea. Which may be hard considering that idols change there faster than the seasons of the year. And of course, as we know, all bands are bound by the rules of nearly slavery, so they appear here and there, making the appearance even at 3 am. And one of those girls said what she said. I mean, who gives a  crap? Omo, actually it sounded appropriately...

KNG - Style

Even the company knows what type of man it needs. Well, not only company, if I may be frank. Eh..

KNG - One Fine Photoshoot

This is my favorite photoshoot. Over 40 pictures, I guess it's complete, but I may be mistaken.

Sunday morning

I guess it's now official - I'm doing short movies on every Sunday morning. OK, I've done it twice so far, so let's not jump to conclusion and do not base a theory on the fact I'm lazy. I have to do something meaningful today (hmm... dinner is naturally out), so I guess I will make some wallies... emm... not exactly the right answer.

Pusan International Film Festival

Asia's most prestigious film event, the Pusan International Film Festival, opened Thursday night at the Suyoungman Yacht Marina in Korea's city of Busan.
This year international VIP guests include American filmmaker Oliver Stone who's here to promote his new release "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" and French actress Juliette Binoche, who was personally invited by the event's executive chairman Kim Dong-ho, as well as American actor Willem Dafoe, who is here to promote his latest project "A Woman."
On the domestic front "Queen of Cannes" Jeon Do-yeon has been invited as a guest at the festival's special section, Cinema Today Panorama, where her recent film "The Housemaid" will be screened.
And other celebs here to light up the event included Won-bin, Jung Woo-sung, Hyun-bin and Son Yeh-jin. (Arirang)
They forgot about Jeong Jaeyoung, bastards!! But I spotted him!
And I thought I went crazy and started to see things when I thought I saw KNG. I checked. Nope, I'm sane. KNG was in the broadcast^^
More info: PIFF on Arirang
You can always see a short report on it.
More pictures from the red carpet can be found: here.
Download link in 2 hours.
It's here

KNG... video, sadly one

Maybe few videos. If this works. I planned to put some others earlier, but it looks like they overwrite each other and instead of 5 different, I have 5 exactly the same ones.
That's my luck again. Blogger hates me, I guess.
Nope, it doesn't work...
Nothing works today.
After frustrating hours at work, that's not the end of my adventures. I bought a ticket for a street-car, and validated it right after entering (yes, I don't want any encounter with nice, big gentlemen who check the tickets occasionally^^), and as I wanted to play some music, I put the ticket between lips (starts like a good por... emm... erotic. Damn, such picture on the left and "erotic" is just... nevermind...) and since I'm stupid and was in no hurry, I wrote a message to my dongsaeng, I started the music player, got the earplugs, and finally put my phone in the pocket. Then I took the ticket. The tingling sensation on my lips was as if I ate a lemon, but I paid no attention, since "I'm going Slightly Mad" started to play. After some time I caught terryfied gaze of two small girls (I can't tell the kids' age, forgive me, for me they are all 5 and then 18). I tried to smile at them (because I know what impression I can make, haha!), and then I felt metallic and salty liquid on my teeth. Quick look at the window-glass... and yes, <----------- that was me. Maybe without fangs. With the ticket, I removed the skin from my lip. Funny as hell.
I mean, why even such things keep pouring on me??
What have I done in my previous lifes?
Or, I know, not being an oppa-girl, and genetically brain-deprived kyaaa breed has finally paid off.

Kim Namgil: some pics, some videos

OK, since I'm now converting the videos I found in many different places (you don't wanna know where, I don't know where), a pic^^
Truthfully, I have a weak spot for his stupid facial expressions (and he's willing to give that, due to his goofing around on the plan), so the more dumb he looks, the more I fall for him.
He can be pretty as the butterfly on the orchid (or the orchid itself), but I prefer his not pretty images, but like the latest, with longer, loosely tied up hair, and yes, I will say it at loud - with facial hair! Cause without it he looks like a candy. I don't like candies, I got a tooth-ache after too much of them, mehehe^^

Kim Namgil - AD HOC

Not the new one, the previous one. I finally snatched the video of making of it. Nothing new, but the pictures are alive, at least.

Ahn Sungki and Kim Namgil

This is the right order. Because, no matter how much I admire the latter, the former is just bigger. More experienced. Pictures come from 29th Blue Dragon Film Festival that was held 2008.11.20. So yes, they are not new, but I rarely seen them on non-Korean or non-Japanese websites. I don't read swahili, so can't say much on those. The fact that they entered the red carpet together and stood there, the fact that Mr. Ahn speaks so highly on Namgil-nim, it all warms my heart more than any even the most beautiful picture of our encamped Mr. Kim.

And that would be all. I should start to laugh here as a troglodyte, but I will not. Consider this a gift of civilization from me. But they could just come up with better description than 美しく激しい男性同士の愛の形!(Stunningly intense love between men). Crap, this movie is about love. Difficult love, but love nonetheless. I hate when there is always a tag "gay love", GTM. It's a damn love, you morons! And here you have a solid fan of a good GTM, and sincere hater of yaoi. It works like this somehow. Damn, it irritates me, and I'm lately like a furious hornet, do not approach!
Plus, I found tons of interviews with our sincerely missed, encamped KNG-nim on Japanese websites. When will I have the time to translate it.
Ara, you don't need that, hun, right? Can I put them all here? *^^*

KNG: Japan has so many different faces

Kim Nam Gil (Queen Seondeok) who is called "the actor you want to meet the most in Asia" came to Japan for "3rd Japan-Korea friendship Fest". As he is right before his mandatory military service, the activity outside the country meets with some obstacles. Korean Government allowed to it just because this is a cultural event and he was granted the posssibility to participate in it.
Thanks to this "miraculous visit", we had the chance to talk with him, before press conference, about his character Bidam he played in Queen Seondeok, his impression on Japan, and his activity as a charity volunteer, despite unbearable heat.
