Throwback Thursday Part 18

On this day, February 9, in 1965, a U.S. Marine Corps Hawk air defense missile battalion is deployed to Da Nang.* Therefore, today's TT is to the Vietnam War - mostly soundtracks from movies about this conflict.

 Let's start.

First and foremost, for my Sis. Stanley Myers - The Deer Hunter.

A cliche song, but it has to be here. The Rolling Stones - Paint It Black

Georges Delerue, Samuel Barber - Platoon

Maurice Jarre - Jacob's Ladder.

Where Have All The Flower Gone sung by Pat McGuire. For me this song is performed best by Marlene Dietrich, but that might be just my opinion.

Klaus Badelt - Rescue Dawn

Phillip Glass - Hamburger Hill

And of course, there's no Vietnam War without the Ride of the Valkyries, so here you have.

And a bonus.
