Saturday Poetry Corner 39: Tarantella

Today, a musical with a dark twist by Joseph Hilaire Pierre René Belloc.

BBC Natural World: Wild Cuba A Caribbean Journey Part 1 (2020)

It is narrated by Colin Stafford-Johnson who explores the less explored corners of the island. His narration is very personal and it's obvious he loves what he presents. It is also a bit bittersweet, as he talks about the extinction that comes silently and no one ever notices. It is almost a poetic narration.

TV Series Opening 48: The Victim's Game

I missed Taiwanese shows so I started to watch it. If you thought Bones had gross imagery (decaying corpses et. al), this one is not for you.

I was so addicted to this show in my teen years, I honestly can't explain.

Kdrama Trailer Part 2: Kingdom

Today the second trailer and wow, another sageuk, who would have thought? This is the trailer to the so-called Season 1 and Season 2, but honestly we all know where Netflix can shove that whole season format of Korean series.

[Review] KBS Drama Special 2016 Full Season

And 2016 would end my succinct and mass reviews of the KBS2 Drama Special series, because 2015 was the last year I regularly watched the episodes, even though I did not write anything about them.
Fun fact - in lots of these episodes we see the rain. Nothing new, as the DS are usually shot during Summer, yet I couldn't help but smile thinking: "Oh, they shot this one along with that one".

Today, a short but murmuring like a rivulet, poem by Alfred Lord Tennyson.

Drama Stage 2020: My Wife's Bed

There was something deeply uncomfortable about this one. It featured (post-drama) a quotation from Charlie Chaplin saying "Life is a tragedy when seen in close-up, but a comedy in long-shot." It was supposed to put the events in perspective here, but the episode with its indifferent narrative didn't assure us the events will ever be viewed as comedy.

BBC Blue Planet Revisited 2/2: Great Barrier Reef (2020)

In this episode we had fish. And coral reefs. And more fish.
Also - turquoise water, known better as pearl aqua waves.

Drama Stage 2020: Ogre

Since it's kind of a spring cleaning, I'm starting lots and lots of dramas that are occupying my virtual space. Among them, I finally got to start Drama Stage 2020 - a series of 10 short movies made for tv. A similar concept to KBS Drama Special, but here we do have a merging of cinematic experience with the format made for tv.
And since tvN is a big fan of long episodes, this even feels like a real movie.
The third year of Drama Stage has  even its own name, the episodes are assembled as Color of My Life.

[First Impression] Team Bulldog

I will be honest - once again I went into watching something blind. I watched one teaser, true, but kdrama teasers say little or purposefully mislead the viewers. The very first episode made me sure I will be sticking with this one. It has a great mixture of crime, comedy, and satire as well. Sprinkled with great chemistry between the characters, some of them we meet in the middle of a dangerous operation which proves their story goes way beyond the acquaintance with us. And some just meet and... well, annoy each other.

Saturday Poetry Corner 37: The Highwayman

Today, a story. Maybe not of the highest artistic value, but enjoyable.

BBC Blue Planet Revisited 1/2: A Sharks Tale (2020)

There be sharks. Lots and lots of sharks.
They also explained that the chance of getting killed while taking a selfie is higher than being killed by a shark.
And during the time that it takes to watch this episode, 11500 sharks will be killed.

Kdrama Trailer Part 1: My Country

Some people know I am a slightly unhinged consumer of trailers and openings. And one of them suggested I should maybe post them.
Blame Mexochi.
Ano no, the first one isn't Tale of Nokdu. I will strike the least everyone expects.
