Saturday Poetry Corner 45: A Broken Appointment

Today, a short poem by one of my most favorite novelists - Thomas Hardy.

Drama Stage 2020: Everyone is There

Up until the last 5 minutes it seemed like a story about school bullying with a sad conclusion that actually the victim has to yield and move the school, but no consequences meet the one who initiated it. Around the middle it turned into the revenge story, however the ending just threw a curve ball no one could have predicted.

Into The Wild Colombia: The Hummingbird's Quest 3/5 (2018)

In this episodes we had three Moms raising the next generation, but not always with success.

TV Series Opening 49: Hotel Del Luna

It's on my list, I'm getting there, don't haunt me.

Oh wait...

Into The Wild Colombia: A Capuchin's Tale 2/5 (2018)

In this episode we follow a young capuchin monkey, Blanco, as he starts his life at 6 months old. I kind of don't like monkeys so the pics are what they are.

I do like apes though, especially gorillas.

SF8: Manxin

I really liked this episode. And Lee Donghwi starring it it has absolutely nothing to do with it. I am a professional.

Into The Wild Colombia: Romeo and Julieta 1/5 (2018)

With this documentary we are moving to South America, and to be more specific - the Choco rain forest in Colombia Where t rains around 300 days per year). The first episode tells the story of a little golden dart frog, a poisonous little cutie, who is in search of a mate. And she has only 4 days to do it. And the rain forest is dark and full of dangers.

Africa's Hunters Series 1: Survivors of the Plains 6/6 (2015)

In this episode I learned that female hyenas have so high levels of testosterone, they have a false penis.

SF8: The Prayer

Finally, a sci-fi show to watch.

 According to Asianwiki:

8 film directors participated in "SF8," with each person directing a 1 episode TV special. The genre of the specials deals with science fiction, including AI, AR (augmented reality), VR, and robot games.

Which reminds me a bit of Black Mirror series. Now, as I'm one of two people I know who don't sing sky high praises of BM, I hoped it would be sci-fi but with a Korean twist that is giving the characters some emotions and thus - making us care about them.

Saturday Poetry Corner 44: Lamia (Part 1)

Today -  a long poem by John Keats. Only the first part.

Batman TAS: Title Cards Season 1

Some of you know that I absolutely love Batman: The Animated Series. The production value is amazing, the storytelling - great, the concept - awesome, the humor - oh, it shows that something about Batman can have humor in it. This is why I'm sharing the title cards for the episodes from the BlueRay release. The cards follow the general style of the animation - a mixture of 1920's and 1950-60 with a dash of technology. But they are always minimalistic. Even when they have that fuzzy effect.
Season 1 has 60 episodes, so this post is picture heavy (even though there is no 60 pics).

Drama Stage 2020: Blackout

This one I will honestly don't describe (in detail) because the crime intrigue is very nice and people should rather watch for themselves. This episode's main topic is greed, I think. And how it corrupts.

Africa's Hunters Series 1: Teenage Pride 5/6 (2015)

In this episode we had the last look at the Nsefu lion pride. And we learned that teenagers are dumb and reckless regardless of species. And some die because of that. We also learned that a male lion, having all the females in his pride, is having something on the side going on. Men...

Hidden Australia (2020)

No spiders, so I believe it was about Australia from the alternative universe. Because, seriously, no spiders?

But there will be birds, because, apparently, Australia is a bird paradise.

Drama Stage 2020: My Husband Has Kim Hee-Seon

The previous episodes, sans nr 5, were much heavier in themes they explored, however this one is perhaps as relevant to people in any kind of a relationship as it can be. This episode deals with problems that stem from the lack of communication in the marriage.

Saturday Poetry Corner 43: Revenge

Today, a poem by Laeticia Elizabeth Landon.

Africa's Hunters Series 1: The Misfit 4/6 (2015)

Today's episode chronicled the struggles of on of the cubs, a runt. Visibly smaller and timid, he was not participating in the siblings' games and making friends. And after his accidental adventure, when he came back limping, he was nearly mauled by adolescents in his pride, shunned by his mother and aunt, ignored by his siblings and on the verge of starving to death.

The tenacity of this one is admirable.

Africa's Hunters Series 1: Bound By Blood 3/6 (2015)

It's going to be a story of life and loss.
They said that lionesses have bigger brains than the males, especially the part that controls the conscious thinking. Meaning: they plan, they scheme and they take control.
There is a lioness grandma here and she has a deep grudge against leopards, the narrator said that scientists think that lionesses remember their lost litter their entire lives, and maybe leopards killed her cubs so she's on the path of vengeance every way she can.

Africa's Hunters Series 1: A Leopard's Last Stand 2/6 (2015)

This episode is also about Kamuti and her defending the territory that for 10 years has belonged to her. Because a new female leopard, Olimba, is moving her way. And she's only 3 years old, in her prime, looking for a place to make her own.
