[Rearview Mirror 2020] Korean Movies

In 2020 I watched 54 Korean films. Majority of them (48) was experienced in the lovely company of my twitter friend: Mexochi. Below you can find the list of them, some with short info whether it's worth seeing or not. Also, I don't care about spoiler-phobic feelings, so yes, there are spoilers.

Ju Jihun: Being an Actor Starts at 40

OK, so while wandering through twitter, I saw an article, it wasn't that long and since it's been a while I translated something, I made a quick one.
Enjoy.

Kdrama Trailer Part 2: Kingdom

Today the second trailer and wow, another sageuk, who would have thought? This is the trailer to the so-called Season 1 and Season 2, but honestly we all know where Netflix can shove that whole season format of Korean series.

[First Impression] Hyena

The four episodes are done, so I am writing a short, really short first impressions post about this SBS series. First thing first, I think SBS is still on Fiery Priest success high, so it employs similar technical tricks, albeit not up to this level of pure crazy energy as FP had.
Before I jump into some things related to the series itself, I have to say all the actors here are doing a splendid job, there is a certain level of freedom in their acting, but that's something to be expected from the people here.
Also, I have pics, and I'm not afraid to use them.

Wow, Fantastic Baby!

This is all I have to say about this season's dramas. Of course not everything is perfect, they could have been even more meticulously done, but it's not like we're watching documentary series, right?
If someone wants to see how a society behaves or how big companies work, one should watch maybe Planete, or read some sociology articles/books. If someone expects from a drama a 100% identity with the real life, well, I have some bad news for them.

Ju Jihun's update

Simple, Free Image and File Hosting at MediaFire

I'm mostly off these days, and instead of getting my blood boiling with K-entertainment, I have my blood boiling because of Olympics. But still, I cannot let myself stay behind, so I'm reading here and there (between volleyball matches and weightlifting, ehem).

Five Fingers

This is all I need to grab this man. I hope this drama doesn't disappoint, I really do. Although, whatever, I'll stay with it till the bitter end even. It has Jihun.
He had to lose 6 kilos for the role, and let me clear one thing first - he was a stick even before, so I'm really not sure what to expect. A mummy has probably more meat than him.

Ju Jihun is a (moron) King

It's funny to see Kdramas as the reason of poor netizens' pride being hurt, yet trying to do something more competitive and awesome than usual sappy comedies. And on the other hand we have movies that can ridicule even the most esteemed figures. Like in upcoming movie I Am the King - King Sejong. Great King, inventor of Hangeul, the Father of Nation. This time - a moron. Played by Jihun. With an awesome cast, to just add.
And this is something I'd like to see Namgil-nim in. In comical role, making retarded faces (like he can), just for fun and not for fanning the national pride. Plus, that would spare his character from dying. Again.

Ju Jihun and his drama

Both in real life and on screen. Look what I found in my email box. So, he's banned by KBS and MBC now? Korea, Y U so double-standard-ed? I wrote this hundreds of times, especially when the hell broke lose 3 years ago - a man pays for his mistakes - which he has done. Now, move on and give this man a chance. OK, what I'm about to write isn't nice. I like Big Bang, I do, I'm not the huge fan, but I like (OK, I like Dae). Last year GD was caught with marijuana in the club. Huge shitstorm followed, yet BB weren't banned from music shows, concerts, their activity wasn't halted to that extent what is now happening to Jihun. Despite all, he didn't deserve such treatment.

Ju Jihun new drama?

sdgshdfG^%^&!! Whatever, I just hope that project will see the light, not like the last two. KBS World wrote about new drama with Ham Eunjung and my eagle eye spotted JJH's name, mehehe, I make no sense. Nice evening, nice company, some alcohol (more at home) and now this.
"Five Fingers" is about youth that struggle to overcome their tragic pasts and obstacles, fighting to reach for the stars and see their dreams come true. Joo Ji-hoon is another name confirmed; he will be playing the main male lead.
 KBS World

Plot? Who needs plot when we'll have JJH back!

Ju Jihun (and Hong Kwangho)

Sorry, had double eyegasm, and have absolutely nothing of any sense to write. "...you've been double cast with Hong Gwang-ho this time, who nobody could win in terms of singing."

And this is how sanity leaves me, leeeaaaveees meeeee!! Nanana...

Singing men

If anyone is curious why I never mentioned dancing men - well, I did that out of protection of my own sanity. As almost every girl, I'm vulnerable to singing men, but dancing men have something in them that makes me... oh noez, kids may also stumble upon this post...
Anyway, today two of them, Hong Kwangho, who could sing the mackerel recipe and I would die from fangasm, and Ju Jihun, who could... ah, nevermind, it's still early.
In case you are interested in Korean musicals (as the humble jelly writing this), you may want to check this website: http://ticket.interpark.com/MusicalIndex.asp. It's basically ticket website, but it does have some nice features around.

Bad, bad army

I'm frustrated. It's cold here (although today was +15 degrees, whoohoo!) in my flat, and the cold gets on my nerves too easily. And when I'm ticked off, I may be a little harsh. Oh, btw. new The Diva pics from Japan are all over the net. Kim Haneul looked all embarassed. She probably wasn't, but those stills gave such impression. Anyway, I have strong resolution to finish Secret Garden (at last), but my strong will may be crumbled by something else. I'm slacking lately with reviews, but have no time for this. Mondays became suddenly so heavy and tense, so I have to give up my weekends to prepare for it.

Winter Night's Dream

I know that astronomically  it's not Winter yet. But to the person who has below 20 degrees C in the room and sees tons of snow every day, December 21st is another day.
During those dark times, I made few wallies^^
And about the words above on the pic?  Well, I had to write something so it wouldn't look so boring and empty.

Exotic charm - Stars vs Soldiers

This article left me puzzled. First, I wanted to sit and translate it, but when I managed to take my eyes off of two guys featured there I sssaw... I saw... Kang The Creep Dongwon. OK, I know everyone loves him, but he seriously scares the living sh*t out of me. Even his smile is haunting as for me. Have no idea why. "He didn't kill me" (to quote a now-famous quote from DA), but I simply can't look at him without fear of nightmares again. And no, I've seen some movies with him.
