Album Cover Part 3

In this episode - album covers featuring nature. I know, there are lots of those, so I had to do a harsh selection. In addition to first post rules, this one also doesn't feature: humans, Deep Forest albums and SHINee. Why SHINee you may ask? Well, they ARE the natural marvel, so...

Throwback Thursday Part 53

Today's Throwback Thursday is to the year 1980.
Because I say so.

Throwback Thursday Part 52

Since today, as Twitter has taught me, is World Book Day, this time Throwback Thursday is to the songs inspired by books. Or short stories because Kim Jonghyeon.

Throwback Thursday Part 25

Today's Throwback Thursday takes us to the March 30th, 1891, when British Steamer "Utopia" sank off Gibraltar killing 574.
Because that's what utopias usually do.
The antithesis of utopia, in the common understanding, is dystopia. I'd argue that the latter is rather a mirror image, distorted whenever possible, but it's not the complete opposite. It's probably almost the same ontic entity but with one tiny molecule of some quality more. It's not another quality. It's like chocolate. One may dream a world of chocolate to live in. But after some time within a world like this, having nothing more to eat or drink, not seeing anything else but chocolate flowers, one might shoot themselves between the eyes.

Throwback Thursday Part 13

Today's Throwback Thursday leads us to... the 90's! More specifically - to the movie (only!) soundtracks from the 90's. Also, I don;t care if the song, if there's any, was recorded earlier. It appeared on the 90's soundtrack.
I hope you enjoy!

Throwback Thursday Part 12

The December has come. So today's Throwback Thursday takes us back to 12 songs for each month. This time - not my association with any of them, only one representing each month because of the lyrics.
Enjoy^^

Throwback Thursday Ep 07

The year is 1979, and it was a good year^^. I am not going to list so obvious choices like Queen, Abba, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Police or The Clash, but some other gems.
Enjoy!

Throwback Thursday Ep 06

Today's theme is the 50's. This list is just a tiny fraction of what I would love to post, because the 50's gave us a galaxy of great songs. OK, make that two galaxies.
Video heavy^^

Throwback Thursday Ep 05

For some strange reason, yesterday I listened to the songs and musical pieces from the "roaring twenties". So there you go.

Throwback Thursday Part 03

This time, something maybe less eclectic than the first installment, and R'n'B free.
This Thursday is made entirely of instrumental pieces. No vocals. Mostly soundtracks.

Throwback Thursday Ep 02

This one is sponsored by the letter R like in "R'n'B". I hope there won't be much fuss about that.
Some throwback to the times when Drake and Jay-Z weren't considered R'n'B artists. Because, seriously?
More under the cut.

Throwback Thursday Ep 01

Why not a new tradition (however weird that sounds)? I will try to go down the memory lane every Thursday and present a handful of MVs from the yore and yonder.
Maybe...

April Music

A handful of music gathered the last month.
Some of those are older though, I simply had no time to write a post.

"Because a song has got to stop somewhere"

Another batch of songs that have caught my attention lately. I've been writing mostly about music or music-oriented topics, but in all honesty - every series I'm watching now started airing long time ago or ended quite some time ago and I don't feel anything I can write about it will add any dimension to the discussion. Oh wait, I lied. Of course it would. Only problem is I don't feel like it.
I have to write an academic article on Constantine, and I still can't muster up the will to do it.
This is one of the reasons you are all stuck with the music I'm listening to and then imposing on all of you.
Without much ado, let's plunge!

Wow, Fantastic February!

In terms of music, of course. And it's not about the music that was released in February, but the music *I* discovered in February.
And that makes it fantastic.

Disclaimer: I will not review Kim Jonghyeon's "BASE". My rational mind wants to, but my devotion gets the better of me.

So, off to some music! There will be lots of extremely slow, sad ballads, so beware!

Through June With Music

Or whatever is left of June anyway. My persistent habit of writing random words into YouTube, and now spotify, has been always paying off with finding few really nice artists like Jordan Chan Siu Chun (Traditional Chinese: 陳小春) whose album was a pleasant surprise (oh well, year 2001 in Asian R'n'B was a good year). Or some progressive metal band...
Special thanks go to Viande, who linked Yong Junhyeong's mini album and I fell for it hopelessly. My neighbours are probably less grateful to you, hon^^

Video heavy.

August But Not Rush

Before I disappear again for my hometown holiday, maybe some music update? I found this list of 500 Essential Rock and Roll Songs, so if anyone wants to check, I'll paste it below. You remember the list of 1000 songs you Have To Listen before You Die? Yes, similar list. Highlights? No Oasis' song this time.
Don't worry, I didn't forget about my eternal voices, I'm listening to them as well.
