JYJ donation for Thailand Flood Relief

JYJ worked with the World Vision in Thailand Emergency Relief for Flood Recovery group and donated 200 million won to help them with their fundraising goals.
This amount will be able to provide victims of the flood with emergency food and aid, mosquito nets, blankets, water purification systems, and other non-food materials such as information books and other items to help victims recover what they had lost.

JYJ stated that they decided to donate because “The floods in Thailand, with the great amounts of water, has created an excess amount of damage. Because of the love and support the people of Thailand have showed us we promised to do as much as we could [to help them]” and also “We hope for all of the people of Thailand, including the fans and the Korean residents currently in Thailand, to gain stability”

In addition JYJ, along with their label mates Actress Song Jihyo and Park Yoohwan, have recently participated in a charity that sponsors children in Africa, and continue to contribute [to charities] in a positive and active way.

JYJ’s Kim Jae Joong prefers to donate his present instead of keeping it for himself.
Jae Joong Fan Union donated 6 million won to Good Neighbors on November17 to help flood victims in Thailand.
The union raised money to support Kim when he was shooting SBS’s series Protect the Boss and they had some money to spare after the series was completed. The union asked Kim what he wanted as a present, but Kim said he wanted the money to be used for people who are in trouble and in need of help.
The union said, “We donated the entire balance to flood victims in Thailand. We hope that the money from the fans’ heart and Kim’s warm heart can help the people. We also hope the people of Thailand can overcome their misfortunes and recover.”
